2020 QUEENSLAND CHAMPIONSHIP - 3rd Place

What a year it’s been!

The 2020 QUEENSLAND CHAMPIONSHIP took place at Bowen Showgrounds, hosted by the North Queensland Speedway Club on Saturday night.

The rider lineup was the strongest field in years with all the internationals back home and all of them eager to take the top step of the podium. Both semi finals could easily have been a final any other year.

It goes without saying that my 2020 has been far from ideal. Up until last weekend I had not ‘completed‘ a race event at all after RD1 of the Australian Championships was cancelled and I suffered a crash at RD2 in January. My last practice was in the UK in August!

The final results:

1st Josh Grajczonek

2nd Ryan Douglas

3rd Zane Keleher

4th Nick Morris

3rd place against such a quality field is a very solid result after the year I’ve had, making the final was a win in itself.

I’ve now stretched my state podium streak out to 4 in a row with:

3rd QLD (2018)

2nd VIC (2019)

2nd SA (2019)

3rd QLD (2020)

The only thing missing is a #1!

Roll on 2021
